Karnataka Tourism Department, in association with Youth Photographic Society had been holding Photography Contests to promote tourism and encourage photographers. The first of the contests was held in September 2016 to celebrate World Tourism Day 2016. From January 2017, these contests are being held every month. Theme: A Tribute to Kalyan Chattopadhay
KAPA, in association with Youth Photographic Society®, is pleased to invite you to participate in the KAPA PHOTO AWARDS 2024. This FREE contest with CASH AWARDS is being organized to pay tribute to our dear Kalyan da by recognizing photographers who can bring out the glory of his photography.
Pictures not only speak for themselves but offer inspiration to explore, appreciate, cherish and treasure our travel.
Kalyan Chattopadhyay was born in August 1976 in Bongaon, West Bengal. He attended Bongaon High School and then earned his degree from Surendranath College, Kolkata. After short stints in companies like Emami, ABP, and Joy Cosmetics, he left his job and decided to follow his love & passion in the field of Photography.
Kalyan da conducted/coordinated photo tours for fellow photographers regularly to cultural events like Mathura Holi, Puri Rathyatra etc., and also regularly organized photo tours/street walks for his club members.
He formed SEEN SHOT SOCIETY (SSS) in Kolkata in 2019. SSS is a platform for all passionate photo artists & photo lovers. It's a registered photography club under the Federation of Indian Photography. Both National & International Photography Salons have been conducted since 2020, followed by Exhibitions.
He was also invited as a jury member for various National & International salons.
Earlier this year, his longtime dream led him to start Seen Shot Studio in Kolkata.
Alas, fate had other plans for him, and he left us while pursuing his true passion: Photography.
